what I eat in a day as a ballet dancer

one of the most commonly asked questions I get is what I eat in a day. obviously every day is different, but I do have some staples recipes that I include in my lifestyle daily. I am plant-based and have been for my whole life. I try to eat intuitively and organic as much as I can.

please note: i’m not a dietitian, nutritionist, or health professional. my goal is just to thoughtfully nourish myself so I can perform and feel my best. i’m just sharing the recipes I love and what works for my body.

with that disclaimer out of the way... here’s a typical, personal, what I eat in a day!

I typically start my mornings early and simple, with a cup of black coffee and a ginger shot.

after finishing a workout I'll grab an 8 oz celery juice along with a lemon cayenne juice.

this part of my day is fairly routine for me and I don't change what I consume during this time of day much,

aside from maybe adding some holiday coconut/almond creamer for my coffee when the seasons come around... :)

it's a bit later now and i'll make a second cup of coffee and get started making my breakfast.

as of lately I've been making smoothies every morning but I presume I'll switch to an oatmeal mood as I usually do when the weather starts to get colder. anyway, here is my current smoothie recipe!

1 cup of wild blueberries

1 scoop of orgain vegan chocolate protein powder

2 handfuls of spinach

1 tbsp of mct oil

1 tbsp of matcha powder

next I'll make some green tea and a snack before dance.

recently I've been making a sliced apple with almond butter or a sweet and savory rice cake combo.

sweet and savory rice cake recipe is:

savory

1 brown rice cake

1/2 avocado

1/2 sliced cucumber

1/2 sliced tomato

(optional)

kalamata olives

everything but the bagel seasoning

sweet

1 brown rice cake

2 tbsp of almond butter

2 tbsp mashed wild blueberries

dash of cinnamon

after dance I'll usually make a big salad.

kale is my current fave salad base..

salad recipe:

1/2 bag of kale

1 tbsp coconut or avocado oil to massage on kale

2 handfuls of shredded cabbage

1 medium tomato

1 persian cucumber

2 tbsp green goddess dressing by trader joe's

2 tbsp nutritional yeast

later on I'll make some popcorn - I think it tastes so much better popped at home!

I've recently found this absolutely outstanding soup from trader joe's,

the garden vegetable soup, which I have often been having for dinner.

to end the day I love having a kombucha along with some night-time tea to wind down.
